Grateful Sunday #5

“Some of you have money problems. I know that. There is never enough money in your homes. I know that. You are struggling to get along. What is the cure? The only thing I know of is payment of tithing. Now, that doesn’t mean that you will have a Cadillac and a mansion. But it was God who made the promise that He would open the windows of heaven and pour down blessings upon those who walked honestly with Him in the payment of their tithes and offerings, and He has the capacity to keep His promise. It is my testimony that He does keep that promise”. --Gordon B. Hinckley Oahu, Hawaii, regional conference, 18 Feb. 1996
I am so thankful for the blessings that my Father in Heaven has poured out upon me for paying a full tithe. I know without a doubt in my mind that I wouldn't be where I am today if I hadn't. In fact, looking back on my life and some of the trials I've gone through, have been when I wasn't paying a full tithe. Everything we have is from our Heavenly Father and 10% is not much to show him our repayment and gratefulness for those things. I'm especially grateful at this time as we've moved into our beautiful new home. I pray that as Darin and I continue to pay a full tithe that our Father in Heaven will make our home a place where we can constantly feel of the spirit, and that all those who enter it will feel the spirit as well. If ever you're thinking that you may not have the money to pay your 10%, please think again, think of the sacrifices that our brother Jesus Christ made for us and the blessings you've received when paying a full tithe.
