The New Blog

I've been putting this off and putting it off. I finally knew it was time to create the photography blog when Darin said "All you post on our blog anymore is pictures of other people". It's true. I knew it was time to create a new blog, but I just couldn't find the time to do it.

So I'd like to introduce....

Feel free to visit any time. I really really love reading your comments about my pictures, so don't ever hesitate to write what you think! I'll post a link on the side of my blog. Thanks to all my friends who have supported me in this new adventure.

Things I love right now....

{Projects with Mom}

{Projects of Mine}

{Diesel....After a Nail Clip, An Ear Wash, and a Night at the Dog Park}

{Projects I Wish I Was Working On}

I'm absolutely obsessed with this fabric. I would love to make a quilt with this.

THE WEATHER.....I love love love the weather right now. I wore boots today. Nothing excites me more than the first day of Fall that I can wear boots. It may have been premature, but I couldn't contain myself. I can't wait for the leaves to really start changing and to have that delicious scent in the air that comes with Fall. Can't wait for sweaters and scarves!

The Details.....

I'm getting closer to being done with the nursery. It has been SO MUCH WORK. But I'm really really happy with the way it's turning out.

Everything is so beautiful. You walk in and it's like it's own little world.

The many faces of Owen....

Man, I love this little guy. You might remember him. He's the son of some really good friends of ours, and he was the very first session I ever did.

I can't believe how much he's grown. He's a year old now, and just running and exploring everything he can.

I only pray that I can have a child this happy. All you have to do is say his name and he gives you a big old smile. It really makes for an easy session.

I can't believe how time flies. It makes me a little sad to think that before I know it my little gal will be running around just like Owen.

Corey and Janeen, we sure love you guys and appreciate your friendship!

Speaking of growing.....

For everybody's information, I almost ripped these jeans trying to get them on. Let's just say my belly isn't the only thing that's grown in this pregnancy.

I haven't really talked a lot about my pregnancy on here. I'm not really sure why because it's all I think about.

I'm starting my 7th month, 3rd trimester, 28 weeks. I'm on the home stretch. In some ways I can't believe I only have 3 months left. It seems like just barely I was running in on my Mom in the bathroom like a crazy fool.

In other ways three months seems so far away. I can't wait to meet this little thing growing inside me. I can't wait to see Darin hold her. I can't wait to raise a baby girl together.

She's 2 1/2 pounds and 16 inches long now, or that's what THE book says anyway. She moves around so much and it's so amazing to feel and see. I've been lucky so far. My back is starting to hurt, and it's getting harder and harder to sleep, but if those are my biggest complaints thus far, then really I guess I can't complain at all.

People ask all the time if it was planned. Really, most pregnancies aren't, but I don't think this could have happened at a better time. We're so grateful and excited for what's to come!

Growing....

Remember this pretty lady?

She recently lost a lot of weight....in the form of a beautiful baby boy. Introducing Gavin....

This was definitely the most challenging session I've done so far. This little guy did not want to sleep at all. But I think we're pretty lucky to have gotten so many with his pretty eyes.

Don't worry Hannah, I still want to be your friend. :)

Challenging is good for me, because it makes me see how much I need to grow as a photographer.

I was talking to Ashishs' mom, telling her that I'm all self taught and that I haven't felt so far that I've needed to take any classes. I've changed my mind....there's still so much I need to learn. About my camera, about working with my clients, about myself as a photographer.

I think it's easy to get comfortable doing what you're familiar with, but I can't expect to grow if I'm doing the same thing all the time.

I know we didn't get everything you wanted Hannah, and it was frustrating for all of us.

But, I do think we got quite a few that you're going to be able to cherish for a really long time. Congratulations on your new addition. Thanks for letting me capture this special time in your familys' life.

Babies, babies, babies

Last night I got to host a baby shower for Darin's cousin, Danielle. It was so fun to see what I have to look forward too. It's like Christmas.

The best part was that all I had to do was make these cupcakes and open my home to friends and family. Everyone else took care of the rest.

Every time someone gets married or has a baby the family makes a quilt. It's such a fun tradition.

Congratulations to Josh and Danielle. Thanks for the fun night!

Why do I subject myself to this?

I told my Mom she wasn't allowed to come to Utah anymore, because it's just too much work.

You would have thought after the tomatoes that we would have been bottled out, but apparently we're crazier than I give us credit for.

When I got off work Friday we headed over the the farmers market to pick up the things we'd need for the salsa. But could we stop there? Of course not. In the mean time we decided to go spend an hour picking all of the raspberries out of my Grandpas garden so we could bottle raspberry jam. That was the easy part though. We spent an hour or so Friday night bottling 12 half pints of raspberry jam. And boy, oh boy, is it good.

Then we spent from 11:30am to 9:30pm Saturday bottling all of this lovely salsa. It's so delicious too. Even though it's A LOT of work, it's so gratifying to know that we did all of this ourselves, it's fresh, and it's so tasty.

And don't worry, we put Darin to work while we were bottling.My pregnant self was tired of bending down in the food storage room (or is that just my lazy self?) so I assigned Darin to building shelves. He knocked it out in a day and they look so great. I love my talented husband.

After a long day of salsa we thought we needed a reward. So we treated ourselves to massages.

Mom, you can come back again..... as long as you don't have any more bottling ideas. Thanks for teaching me the ins and outs of bottling!

The C Clan

What a fun night. I had the opportunity to meet this cute family. Cameron, Carlie, and Cambria. When they told me their names I said I'll just call you Mom and Dad. What a tongue twister right?
This little girl....wow. She was a HAM. When she was happy, she was really happy.

When she was mad, she was really mad.
She was ready to jump into the water with the geese. Not scared in the slightest.

She had such a cute little personality. Well, I really shouldn't even say little because it was a big personality.
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to get to know your little family!
